Apple iPhone to be powered with a 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM
The latest rumors regarding Apple iPhone 6S says that the company might use a 2GB LPDDR4 RAM. Previously it was believed that Apple won't leave LPDDR3 memory support since it is 35% cheaper than LPDDR4 and its suppliers couldn't have made enough LPDDR4 memory chips.
It is believed that Hynix, Samsung and Micron-Elpida are splitting the work 50%, 30% and 20% respectively to make the RAM chips for iPhone 6S. It was Micron-Elpida which experienced production issues and was reportedly behind schedule, but not any longer.
LPDDR4 memory is not only two times faster than LPDDR3, but also keeps power consumption the same as it is like LPDDR3.
